Over 10 years ago I met Nigel at a gig in Cambridge, it was one of my first big shows to shoot and Nigel's band The Foxes were playing. We stayed in touch and over the years, I caught every Foxes show I could, and I shot promotional photographs for Nigel's solo work! Nigel and Gemma met a few years later, and Gemma and I worked together on photoshoots together too. Gemma is fantastically creative, having studied fashion design at university, being a dab hand at makeup, a brilliant baker for her alternative wedding cake business Haute Cakes and a dedicated model.
Fast forward a few more years, and the news comes that this wonderful pair are getting married!! Cue the best photoshoot of our time together ever, the wedding!!
Nigel and Gemma decided to have a laid back wedding in Salisbury at Barford Park with a ceremony just around the corner at St Laurence Church. Gemma undertook her bridal preparations at the Grasmere House Hotel; she did her own hair and makeup (of course!) and had help from her friends to get into her wedding dress which she had designed and made herself. Gemma's father hired a vintage car as a surprise and it was off to the church to get married!
After the 'I do's', family group photos and confetti showering, it was off to Barford Park for some bride and groom portraits as the sun went down, followed by afternoon tea, speeches and the Inquizition pub quiz! Nigel and Gemma had their first dance and then the party went into full swing with the wedding band playing into the night.
I loved being Nigel and Gemma's Barford Park wedding photographer in Wiltshire.
