Pavel and Georgina’s wedding took place at the beautiful Usk Castle in South Wales in July 2017. Usk Castle is a hidden gem just above Newport - it was one of my favourite places to relax during my time at University and when Rebecca of A Thing Like That told me we’d be shooting Pavel and Georgina’s wedding at the castle, I was sooo super excited!! This was a very hot summer’s day, and with the castle’s exposed brick walls and wonderful surrounding views I could have been fooled that I was on the continent! But sometimes the Welsh weather treats us to a glorious day such as this!
Whilst Rebecca caught up with Georgina for her bridal preparations, I head to Usk Castle to get some shots of the different parts of the castle all dressed up for the wedding. The marquee supplied by County Marquees looked fantastic in the centre of the castle grounds, and the ceremony hall decked out with wooden chairs with the sun beaming down looked glorious. Pavel and the boys arrived and started welcoming their guests, and after a drink or two everyone went to the ceremony hall to be seated.
Pavel and Georgina had a humanist blessing in the Great Hall, conducted by their two best friends which made their ceremony so personal and emotional! After the ceremony it was time for canapés and group photographs around the castle grounds, followed by their first dance which Pavel and Georgina chose to have before their wedding breakfast. Speeches, dinner and cake cutting later, we took the newly weds out around the grounds for some couple photographs just before our time with them was up.
It was a real pleasure to be Pavel and Georgina’s Usk Castle Wedding Photographer with Rebecca, and I’d love to do it again! If you are planning a wedding at Usk Castle, I’d love to hear from you.
A selection of my photographs below, enjoy!
